  1. Ah, thank goodness. You have sun! I've got to someday go to Salzburg when it's not December.

I don't remember anything I was going to say, so I guess I'll just randomly spout. And perhaps repeat: if you are ever going to shop for anything at all, you can skip downtown alltogether and hit Waehringerstr. and Oberkirchgasse. Except I have to admit, the H&M is really good for kid's clothes.

But enough about shopping. If you have time, the Nordsee (again, on Waehringerstr.) is my favorite quick-food restaurant, if you like herring. Just walk up to the takeout window, ask for a Matjesbroetchen, and you will be in heaven. It actually surpasses Doener for me as the first food I always want to get in Germany.

Does Evie like the shower? The girls loved to platsch around in there forEVER. Are you crippled yet from the bed?

All is well in Winston. Except today was INSANE again with the girls. Nothing like a temper tantrum at 7:30 a.m. to set the tone for the day. Who knew the amount of pain and despair a $1.50 plastic turtle could bring upon a house (long story)?

The Nutella. There is a little demitasse cup in the house with a sunset scene on it. Every morning, Hugh would dose out a few spoons of Nutella in that for Nina, and that's all she would get. It was her reason for waking up. To date, we've succeeded in convincing her that you can't buy Nutella in the States

  2. Evie hasn't learned the word for Nutella yet but knows that she likes it. A LOT.
    with toast and jam.
Evie also likes pork knee! We made it to the Schwei...? place in the Prater. AH-MAZE-ING.
So were the HORSEYS! Somebody got to sit on one and then get pulled around in the sleigh by a horsey on a real live merry go round. A good day!
Would you vote Centimeter or Fisher Brau for dinner tonight with the group? Did I tell you one of my students missed her flight? Oh, and yes, we LOVE the shower. Especially sliding off the bench. (not my favorite part).

I can't wait to hit your shopping recs.
Won't get there until next week after my mom arrives.

  4. Fisher Brau is better food, Centimeter is more fun. I'd probably go to Fisher Brau if I could only go to one (although I know this is too late.

  5. Centimeter ain't gonna happen for J-sor. The Schweizerhaus pork knee was everything it was billed to be. Surprisingly we had a good time at the Prater this time around. I think last year we were dealing with Roseala and the day we went it was like 90 F and we wilted in the sun. The live pony carousel was pretty ridiculous when you think about it.

  6. You chose well. Centimeter puts on a great show and has an amazing quantity of meat, but the quality isn't up there with the Schweizerhaus, Fisher Brau,... On the other hand there is just something magical about your own wheelbarrow of meet and your own tower of beer to wash it down even if the meat is a little drier than it should be.

Christina should still go with the students because Evie will love the side dishes on the wheelbarrow as Nina and Sage did. Even for me they are better than the meat there (although not close to a pork knee).
